School of Natural Sciences

We aim to enable excellence in Natural Sciences teaching and research by harnessing the strengths of individuals, disciplines and wider synergies.

This is an exciting time for the School of Natural Sciences. We have a vibrant student body, from undergraduate through to postgraduate, and a flourishing research community across a range of disciplines. We embrace interdisciplinary collaboration to further our knowledge and help tackle the most pressing global challenges.

Professor Chris Hardacre / Head of School of Natural Sciences

Delivering teaching and research activities across our core subjects, we will advance the boundaries of science for the wider benefit of society, inspiring staff and students to promote positive change.

Together with our colleagues in engineering, as well as collaborations across the Faculties of Biology, Medicine and Health, and Humanities, we will achieve success through multidisciplinary learning and research, educating future leaders in the true fundamentals of science.

Making a difference

Sharing the knowledge gained from our research within the Faculty to improve our behaviours and practices, especially in environmental sustainability, enables our staff and students to make a difference in their study and work and generate solutions to society’s challenges.
